Our Disability Confidence Awards Night is a pivotal celebration, honouring members who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to fostering disability confidence in their workplaces. It’s a momentous occasion where standout achievements are spotlighted, inspiring a collective commitment to drive positive change in inclusive practices.

Join us as we cheer on the winners, network with fellow passionate allies, or even join us on stage to accept your award!

With canapes and beverages included, this is a night to connect with each other in person and celebrate the progress we are making towards building a disability confident Australia.

Finalists will be notified on 18 April 2024. Award recipients will be announced and receive their awards during the 2024 Australian Disability Network Awards Night in Melbourne, on Wednesday 8 May 2024.

Disability Inclusion Changemaker of the Year

This award celebrates and recognises an individual who is driving the most impact in disability inclusion in the workplace – for employees and customers. This individual works tirelessly to make change and promote disability inclusion. Nominate yourself, or someone you think is doing incredible things to improve access and inclusion for people with disability.

Inclusive Initiative of the Year

This award celebrates and recognises an organisation that is creating change through their inclusive initiative(s) in the workplace for employees and/or customers. The change driven by this initiative has been organisation-wide, and may even have stretched beyond – leading the way and influencing suppliers, partners and/or competitors.

Disability Employee Network of the Year

This award celebrates and recognises an organisation with the most impactful Disability Employee Network (DEN), also known as an Employee Resource Group (ERG). This organisation’s DEN has worked together to create real impact across their organisation. They have strong governance, as well as strong support from different areas of business including leadership, diversity practitioners and employees.

Supervisor of the Year

This award recognises and celebrates an individual who has played a pivotal role in the success of their Stepping Into Intern. They have provided exceptional support, mentorship, and guidance to their intern, exhibiting disability confidence, and fostering an inclusive environment that encourages learning, growth, and achievement.

This award was open to Stepping Into supervisors who participated in any of the 2023 Stepping Into programs.

Intern of the Year

This award recognises and celebrates an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, initiative, and a strong work ethic during their internship. This Intern has also made a significant positive impact on their team or organisation during their internship.

Mentor of the Year

This award recognises and celebrates a PACE Mentor who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to guiding and supporting their Mentee during the PACE program. They not only shared their expertise and knowledge effectively, but also empowered and inspired their Mentee to achieve significant personal and professional growth.

This award is now closed.

Mentee of the Year

This award recognises and celebrates an individual who has shown exceptional commitment to their personal and professional development as a Mentee through the PACE mentorship. This Mentee actively sought guidance, implemented feedback, and contributed positively to the mentoring relationship, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

During our Disability Confidence Awards, we also recognise and celebrate the top Australian Disability Network Access & Inclusion Index performers for 2023, as well as organisations that have achieved Disability Confident Recruiter status by 31 March 2024.
